Hey Golfers, Let’s Talk About Your Swing

By Demetrios Michel, PT, DPT

Like many of you, I picked up golf more seriously in the post-COVID era and I’ve been hooked ever since. Turns out, I’m not alone. Over 60 million people are playing golf worldwide, and one of the fastest growing areas of the game is what’s called “off-course golf”...think driving ranges, indoor simulators, and Topgolf. The game is evolving, and so are the athletes playing it.

As both a physical therapist and a golfer, I found myself wondering: how can my background in manual sports physical therapy help not just my own game, but also other golfers who are looking to improve their performance and stay injury-free?

That question led me to the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI), the gold standard in golf fitness and performance training. I completed my Level 1 TPI Certification, and now I use those tools to assess how your body moves in relation to your golf swing. We call it the Body-Swing Connection.

If you’re a golfer - whether you’re just starting out or playing competitively - I’d love to work with you. We’ll take a deep dive into your movement patterns, identify any physical limitations, and create a plan to help you swing more efficiently and safely.

Your body is your most important piece of golf equipment. Let’s make sure it’s working for you, not against you. Request a Golf Screening at Sarrica PT.

See you in the clinic (or maybe on the course).
