Your End Of Year Benefits

As the year comes to a close, most of us are focused on getting the perfect holiday presents and preparing for family celebrations. But what about preparing for the end of the year by focusing on your health before you lose your benefits?

You might not realize it, but most health insurance plans restart their benefits at the beginning of the calendar year. This means deductibles start all over again and so do your benefits. So if it all possible, we recommend wrapping up your holiday preparation and refocusing some of the time left of the year on using your health benefits before you lose them.

What does this mean? Most insurance policies run on a calendar year plan, meaning come January 1st, your deductible restarts and so do any out of pocket costs you have on your plan. Your deductible is your out of pocket expense for your specific plan, which must be satisfied before your insurance pays all or a portion of your healthcare. At this point of the year you most likely have satisfied your deductible.

Anything you can do for your ongoing healthcare or preventative care before the end of the year will help make sure you are maximizing the full benefit of your health plan. Keep in mind everyone’s insurance policy is different so we recommend you contact us to check for your specific benefits.

To make things as convenient as possible for our patients we will verify your insurance and benefits for you prior to your appointment and advise you of any costs. We’ll also be open during the holidays to make sure you have time to schedule! To schedule an appointment for physical therapy before the end of the year, please contact us at Sarrica Physical Therapy at 347-560-6920.
